Rosina “Rose” Angela Andreen, 86, died early Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Thermopolis.

Born Sept. 7, 1928, in Gebo, Wyo., she was the daughter of Bartolo “Bart” and Giovanna Lazzarotto Cavalli. 

After high school Rose attended a year at the University of Wyoming. Before her marriage she was employed as secretary/bookkeeper at the Thermopolis Coke Plant.

On Dec. 5, 1950, she married Roy Donald Andreen in Thermopolis. The couple and their family lived in various locations following Roy’s oil field jobs. In 1973 they moved to Casper and returned to Thermopolis in the early 1990s.

While in Thermopolis, Rose worked at Rexall Drug, then as a bank teller for the First National Bank.  In Casper she continued her career as a bank teller.

She was an active member of St. Francis Church and the Council of Catholic Women.

Her interests included reading, crossword puzzles, water aerobics and going for rides. A woman with a zest for life, she liked people and was interested in their lives. She was special to her children and grandchildren.

Loved ones remaining include two sons, Dale (Val) Andreen of Casper and Chuck Andreen of Thermopolis; daughters Donna (John) Lueders of Buffalo and Nancy (Jim) Knopp of Powell; brother, Pete (Iris) Cavalli of Thermopolis; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Joe; and husband Roy.

A parish vigil will be held Wednesday at 5 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Thermopolis. The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. with Father Hugo L. Blotsky, OSB, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
