Asia Bessler died at her home in Powell, due to complications of chronic asthma on Dec. 14, 2014. She was 23.

Asia was born on Oct. 25, 1991, in Cody to Andrea (Baker) and David Giles.

She graduated from Powell High School in 2010 and attended Northwest College.

Asia married Brian Bessler on July 28, 2012, in Powell.

She loved sharing time with her husband, family and friends. Asia loved to laugh and have fun. She loved animals of all kinds, both caring for them and cuddling with them. Asia truly had a beautiful soul and spent her life trying to make this world a better place.

Asia had a generous, giving spirit and loved helping others. Recently, she put together a Christmas basket full of gifts for a 9-year-old child she had never met. Asia made many people happy and filled a multitude of hearts with love.

As a nursing assistant, Asia helped anyone in need. She was an advocate for Donate Life Wyoming and organ and tissue donation.

Asia was preceded in death by her sister EmiLee Ann Bapst.

She is survived by her husband Brian of Powell; parents David and Andrea Giles of Powell; uncle Cory (Noelle) Baker and nieces K’Lee, Lanee, Baxter Heinert of Powell; uncle Jared (Carrie) Baker of Cody and niece Maleah and nephew Evan; aunts and uncle Beth, Kenny and Shandel, who live out of state; aunt Sara (James) Hernandez of Cody and nieces Evie and Tessa; uncles Darrell (Merrie) Giles of California, Dan (Jennifer) Williamson of Gillette and Clarence Anderson and family of Powell; grandfather Harvey Baker, Powell; grammie and grandpa Linda and Kirk Waggoner of Cody; grandfather Bill Giles of Cody; grandmother Patti Giles of Basin; and great-grandmother Peggy Buntin of Powell; brothers-in-law Tim and Mathew Jessen; as well as many extended family members and friends.

For anyone wishing to join in a celebration of Asia’s life, please join her family for a memorial open house in her honor from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, in the new Yellowstone Building on the campus of Northwest College in Powell. It will be an informal come-when-you-can open house with light refreshments served.

Cremation has taken place.
