Ross Zahller, 85, of Cody, died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014.

Ross was born on Aug. 21, 1929, in Waterloo, Iowa, the third child of Ardo and Gladys Zahller. When he was 2 years old, his family moved to Denver, and later moved to Englewood, Colo., where he graduated high school in 1947.

Ross married his high school sweetheart Genelle Jamison on Aug. 18, 1948. Together they had three children: Tom, Cris, and Paul.

In 1970, Ross moved his family to Fort Collins, Colo., where he started a successful heating and air conditioning business which he sold in 1980 to retire and move to Cody. His children and their families soon followed.

Ross gave his life to the Lord at the age of 7.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and was a compassionate and loving man to his family and friends. One of his greatest passions was to tell others about his savior, Jesus Christ.

Later in life, he discovered he had a gift for woodworking and made tables and stools which he generously gave away to many special people he met.

Ross is survived by his wife Genelle; sons Tom (Roxanne) and Paul (Wendy) of Cody; daughter Cris (Bob) Goodhue of Avon, Mont.; grandsons Nathan of Three Forks, Mont., Zach (Debreanna), Ben (Lindsey) of Boise, Idaho, granddaughters Kelsey (Cailin) Winship also of Boise, Shannon (Jeff) Hays of Kalispell, Mont., and four great-grandchildren, Rhea, Eva, Simon, and Lexus.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother and sister.

Funeral services were held at the Cody Bible Church on Monday, Nov. 3, with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
