Dorothy Dianne Lloyd of Powell died on Saturday, Sept. 27,  at West Park Hospital in Cody. She was 72.

Dianne was born in Fresno, Calif., on March 8, 1942. She was the only child of Harry Raymond Lloyd and Dorothy Margaret (Lenke) Lloyd, who predeceased her.

During her early years, Dianne attended school in Jackson Hole, where she lived with her grandparents in the log cabin that her grandfather built. Later, she moved to San Diego with her mother and completed her schooling at San Diego State University, as well as at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dianne worked in San Francisco as a legal secretary, and during that time she discovered her love of photography. Her reverence for nature and her deep spirituality can be seen in the many beautiful black-and-white images she captured throughout the years.

In 1991, Dianne returned to Wyoming, where she taught photography and digital media at Northwest College in Powell and designed websites for local businesses. Dianne will be remembered for her talent and creativity and for the whimsical, joyous spirit she shared with the people she loved.

A casual memorial dinner will be held at one of Dianne’s favorite places, Chinatown in Cody, on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. All are welcome.
