Kay Sanford Long

Kay Sanford Long died Aug. 30, 2014, in Plummer, Idaho, after a short bout with cancer. She was 69.

She was born in Cody on May 19, 1945, the daughter of Margaret (Dunlavy) and Robert Sanford. She grew up in Powell and attended Powell schools. In 1963 she married Charles Long. They were later divorced.

Kay lived in Plummer for over 30 years and was interested in crystal healing and herbal medicine. She was affectionately known as “Grandma Kay” to many in the area. She enjoyed having her family living near her and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Kay is survived by her three children, sons Steve and Randy Long, daughter Wendy Martin, all of Plummer; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Karen Jenson of Cody and brother Bobby Sanford of Plummer and an aunt Donna Brasher of Powell.
