Allen W. Rice of Spring, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014. He was 65.

Allen was born in Cody on Aug. 27, 1948, to the late Dave Wade Rice and Betty (Norskog) Berryman.  

Allen began his early work career by owning his own masonary business, as well as being a heavy equipment operator. He made the transition to the oil and gas industry over 40 years ago and remained there until the time of his death.

Allen loved to spend time with his family especially his wife Billie and their kids and grandkids. He was an avid motorcyclist who loved getting out on the open road.

Allen was a Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. As a veteran he was honored with an intimate memorial service at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Casper.

Allen is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Billie; son Stephen (Leona) Rice and children Tanner, Charlsie and MaKena of Santaquin, Utah; and daughter Krista (Craig) Meier and children Kasey and Kinley of Billings. He is also survived by sisters Nancy (Don) Barnett of Carlsbad, N.M., and Marie (Richard) Holdsworth of Powell; brothers Bernie (Leslie) Rice and Mike (Sara) Rice both of Rangely, Colo.; and numerous other family and friends.

A memorial fund has been established and donations can be made in Allen’s name at the Bank of the West, 300 S. Wolcott Street, Casper, WY 82601.
