John Allison Lowman, 81, died Aug. 14, 2014, after a battle with heart congestion.

He was born Jan. 24. 1933, in Salina, Kan., to Elvin “Tex” C. and Ernestine Lowman. His family moved to Lamar, Mo., where he graduated from Lamar High School on May 25, 1951.

He married his high school sweetheart Naomi Yolanda Allchin on May 27, 1951, at the Methodist church. They moved back to Kimball, Neb., and lived there from 1951-55.

They then moved to Oak Harbor, Wash., and lived there from 1955-62 until moving to Mitchell, Neb., until 1964 when they moved to Wyoming and lived in various towns. They lived in Torrington from 1982-99 and then moved to Cody.

Naomi died on Sept. 26, 2004. They were together 51 years.

John then married Charlotte Jaton Forschee of Laurel, Mont., on Oct. 27, 2004, and they repeated their vows on Dec. 17, 2004, at Christ the King Lutheran Church. In 2006 they moved to Billings. They then made their residence at the Powell Valley Care Center in Powell in February 2013.

John loved to hunt big game, fish and camp with the family. He worked for Shell Oil Co. while in Oak Harbor and became a farmer when he moved to Mitchell, Neb.

While they lived in Casper and Reliance, John became a truck driver, moving mobile homes across the states until he moved to Torrington and became a bus driver. He later retired because of disability.

He was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church.

John is survived by his wife Charlotte, sister Rozanne (Jack) Worrell of Torrington, Katherine (Dale) Englund of Cody, Dana (Dave) Breeden of Fort Laramie, John C. Lowman of Sheridan, Cheryl (Terry) Lapp of Torrington, two stepsons and two stepdaughters; grandchildren Nathan (Tina) Spitzer of Cody, Joanna Kissel of Thermopolis, Christina Kissel of Thermopolis, Denise Breeden Canipe of Fort Laramie, Bob (Nida) Breeden of Japan, Aaron (Noel) Lowman of Casper, Chastity (Matt) Anderson of Firestone, Colo., Michelle Lapp of Torrington, Angela (Jimmy) Brothwell of Yoder; great-grandchildren Sonya Steggall, Tristen Spitzer, Jordan Spitzer, Barbara Jean Kissel, Jacey Ann, Paige Taylor Georgi, Gabrielle Elmarr, Quentin Elmarr, Angelica Breeden, David Breeden, Victor Konkler-Lowman, Naomi Konkler-Lowman, Gracynn Anderson, Dylan Hashman, Haley Hashman, Kylee Brothwell, Kaleb Brothwell and Kaden Brothwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Naomi Lowman, brothers Francis Joe Jowman, Rockne Abram Lowman, James Robert Lowman, daughter Debra Jean Kissel and grandson Jeremiah John Spitzer.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at Christ the King Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Aug. 21, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Torrington.
