A man sits among a moving heard of buffalo on the west side of the southern loop in Yellowstone National Park on Friday. He seems oblivious of the National Park Service’s rules requiring visitors to remain at least 25 yards away from wildlife in the park. Also on Friday, a 12-year-old boy was injured on the other side of the park when he was tossed 10 feet in the air by a male buffalo. Despite warnings from onlookers, the boy and his family were standing only 1 or 2 feet from the buffalo at the time. Tribune photo by Ilene Olson
